User Management

Managing users is a key responsibility:

  • Create Accounts: Add new users to the system
  • Assign Roles: Set appropriate permission levels
  • Role Hierarchy: Content Editor < Site Admin < Root Admin
  • Account Status: Enable/disable accounts as needed
  • Security: Monitor for suspicious activity

Best Practice: Follow the principle of least privilege – give users only the permissions they need for their role.

Role Switching

Test the user experience from different perspectives:

  • Switch to Content Editor: See what content creators experience
  • Switch to Site Admin: Test admin workflows
  • Security: Role switches are session-only and cryptographically protected
  • Audit Trail: All role switches are logged for security

Use role switching to understand user needs and test new features before rolling them out.

System Monitoring

Keep the system running smoothly:

  • Health Checks: Monitor external service connections
  • Sidekiq: Watch background job processing
  • Performance: Track system response times
  • Errors: Monitor for system issues
  • Cache Status: Verify caching is working properly

Regular monitoring helps prevent issues before they affect users.

AI Agents

Configure AI automation for content and operations:

  • Content Generation: AI-powered content creation
  • Data Processing: Automated data imports and updates
  • Monitoring: AI-driven system monitoring
  • Configuration: Set up AI agent parameters and schedules

AI agents can significantly reduce manual work when properly configured.

Security Responsibilities

With great power comes great responsibility:

  • Access Control: Regularly review user permissions
  • Security Updates: Keep system dependencies updated
  • Backup Verification: Ensure backups are working
  • Incident Response: Handle security issues promptly
  • Audit Logs: Review system activity regularly

Remember: You're responsible for the security and integrity of the entire platform. When in doubt, err on the side of caution!
